About Dave
Hi, I’m Dave. I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years, and my love for music began when I was a child. My family immigrated to New York from Moldova when I was 5, and I was lucky to grow up in a household where music was always present. During family gatherings, I watched my dad and uncle play guitar, and I quickly realized how music has the power to bring people together. I picked up my dad’s acoustic guitar when I was around 7 years old and never looked back, spending countless hours learning riffs from artists like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin.
As a resident of Park Slope, I’m passionate about sharing this love for music with my community through guitar and ukulele lessons. Teaching allows me to combine two of my greatest passions—music and helping others grow. My background as a corporate trainer has given me the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, which translates perfectly into music instruction. I’ve developed a highly organized, structured approach that helps students make progress quickly while staying inspired and motivated.
I believe teaching goes beyond just sharing knowledge—I hope to build a genuine connection with each student I meet, to understand their musical dreams and create a safe, supportive environment where they can explore their musical potential. I see my role as part teacher, part mentor and part coach.
I offer lessons in my home studio in Park Slope, online, or even in the convenience of your home. I look forward to working with you and helping you grow your love of music!
My goal is to help you cultivate a healthy relationship with your instrument and musical practice so you can grow into the best musician you can be. As we work together I will get to know your learning style and the kind of music you like to play - that will help me continue to fine tune the curriculum so you can reach your musical goals.
